The Two Incredibles

I am finally old enough to comprehend the sheer greatness of two of the greatest sportsmen to grace the world of sports.

His Royal Highness – Roger Federer – the greatest man ever to raise the racquet. He dances with his weapon, produces shots from high aloft with deadly accuracy and he also cries. He is both human and god at different times.

HRH just won his 16th Grand Slam at the Australain Open 2010 pulling off from the elite of the tenis. In fact, an emotional Murray, who was on the best seat in the stadium was close to tears afterwards, saying: “I can cry like Roger, it’s a shame I can’t play like him.”

Does Obama deserve the Nobel ? Now ?

The 44th President of United States Barack Obama has just recieved the Nobel Prize for Peace for 2009, to quote the comittee’s words

“for his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples”

Barack Obama

The intention of the Peace Prize as described in Nobel’s will, was to award “the person who shall have done the most or the best work for fraternity between nations, for the abolition or reduction of standing armies and for the holding and promotion of peace congresses”. :???: Now, has Obama said he will do all that ? Yes. But has he done all that ? NO. So, why did they give it to him ?

Has Dan Brown lost it ? – THE LOST SYMBOL

I would love to say that ‘The Lost Symbol’ is a wonderful, fast paced and impossible to put down action thriller, but sadly IT ISN’T.
 Since, everybody who wrote a review placed a picture of the book cover, I will differ :D

The Capitol, Obelisk at Night

 Remember this picture carefully. For you will go round and round and round . See the obelisk, see the capitol, see the SMC . Go, now read the book and come back

Dan Brown is a great author. I would say on par with the legendary Sir Arthur.C.Clarke, who is a great man. The interesting thing about Brown’s work is more of the fact that he works in the present and hidden secrets of today and yesterday rather than tomorrow. This is hard. But predicting exactly what the future might hold is nearly impossible. But Clarke did it. So, Clarke still rocks

My meeting with a Nobel Laureate

On September 23, 2009 we had a nobel laureate visit our college campus. It was the Honeywell Nobel Initiative to put students like us in touch with eminent nobel laureates. It was perhaps once in a lifetime opportunity ( at least as far as my life has been so far ;) ). I actually had a chance to meet one nobel laureate.

In my case, it was Prof.Eric.A. Cornell ( Professor for no apparent reason other than he was so much of what I dreamed professors would be like  He is in fact a Research scientist at NIST ).

Eric Alin Cornell
